Arabic Flagship is an intensive IU undergraduate language program that pairs well with any major, including area studies, business, music, informatics, and other programs offered at Indiana University. We encourage students, no matter their skill level, to apply for our program. Students with Arabic backgrounds, heritage learners, and students with zero background in Arabic are all welcome to apply.
In Arabic Flagship, you can reach Superior level fluency by completing Arabic coursework, working with tutors and one-on-one conversation partners, and spending a Capstone year abroad in Meknes, Morocco. You will also have access to summer domestic study and other study abroad opportunities to practice Arabic and its dialects.
IU's Arabic Flagship is a federally funded program that provides extensive scholarship opportunities for our students’ summer study programs and Capstone year abroad. While this funding is not guaranteed, the typical student in our program does receive substantial funding for domestic summer language study and their Capstone year in Morocco.
