Arabic Flagship at the QatarDebate

Last month, Arabic Flagship Students traveled to Standford University to participate in the third edition of the QatarDebate. 16 universities participated in the debate this year with 250 debaters total. The debate is sponsored by the Qatar Foundation in collaboration with the Abbasi Program for Islamic Studies at Standford. We are so proud of our students who decided to participate in the debate, and we cannot wait until next year. You can read more about the debate here.

Arabic Flagship Bradford Recap

Ahlan ya shubab!

Thank you و شكراً for joining us at our first annual Bradford Woods Retreat! We had the best time roasting marshmallows and telling stories by the fire (think Purple Gorilla). We also enjoyed relaxing with our wonderful students and taking a beautiful hike in the morning before heading back to Bloomington. We hope to continue the retreat next year and make it part of the IU Arabic Flagship tradition.

Arabic Flagship Dinner Recap

On October 8th, Arabic Flagship hosted the biannual Arabic Dinner with catering from Pita Land. This was one of the most successful events of the semester thus far.  We were able to celebrate Dr. Iman and Ustada May’s birthdays. Students also received extra credit by bringing a dish that they prepared at home. We are so happy with the turnout, and it was a great way to begin Homecoming weekend.

Thank you to all the faculty, professors, and students that joined us for a wonderful night, and a big shout out to the volunteers and Student Ambassadors that helped make it a success! Check out some of the photos from the event below, and we hope to see you all at the Spring Arabic Dinner!
